They respond. It goes beyond the contract .
Pascale Montrocher
Dassault Aviation, France,
Deputy Chief Information Officer
As Deputy CIO in Dassault Aviation, I am, from an operational point of view, responsible for IT production and for running the contract with Sogeti . That contract was signed three years ago. But there had been a long-standing relationship between Sogeti and Dassault Aviation IT team. The current contract is based on a service level agreement, with a commitment from Sogeti on the results. Assets covered by this contract are Mainframe, Windows servers, Unix server, Helpdesk and users services and application integration. In fact, Sogeti delivers all the different technical skills regarding production and IT. For Dassault Aviation IT, this contract is the most important in terms of price and billing.
Generally speaking, we are satisfied with Sogeti deliveries. Of course, sometimes we have some troubles, but the contract takes that into account and Sogeti comes up with solutions and proposes new actions and processes. And this is done in close co-operation between the two companies..
We are working together to really improve quality. We measure concretely what Sogeti delivers. Our rating system tells us when levels have fallen below a certain limit. In such a case Sogeti has to propose an action plan. And once a month, we have a formal governance meeting where everything is checked.
What I appreciate about Sogeti is, first of all, the technical skills of their people, the way they find solutions to problems.
You sense that behind this problem-solving capability, there is also good organisation and collective knowledge.
Also the long lasting relationship between Dassault Aviation and Sogeti really matters. Sogeti has great experience working with Dassault. They know the company, our people, our way of thinking.
Another very important point is Sogeti’s capacity to react and not just apply the contract.
The contract covers a lot of different points and terms, but both parties like to think operationally, in pragmatic terms. First of all we want to make things work; later we can change the contract.
My goal for the immediate future is to increase the level of commitment and to allow a better autonomy. We want to push our partner to use all their talents and skills and be even more proactive and come up with practical solutions as well as new process. We want the best mix of quality and price; we need the applications to be at the right level of performance and quality; we need the batches to be run during the night, storage, etc; but we need it all to be within the budget.
